Natural History Exhibit

For the next three months (through mid-December), the Boyle County Public Library will host Dinosaur Discovery, an exhibit on loan from Dr. John “Jack” Hankla.
The exhibit was curated specifically for our library and features over 120 fossils and castings from his collection. The exhibit is located in the Children’s library and Library Lobby on the main floor. Stop by to visit anytime the Library is open.
The collection’s pieces come from around the world during years of discovery. Artifacts from Dr. Hankla’s collection have traveled to museums, schools, and libraries across the country. Recently, some of the artifacts in the exhibit were featured in the Jurassic World movies!

Danville has a long tradition of gathering oral histories from its various citizens.
Forkland Oral Histories 10/8-9/2021
At the 50th Anniversary Forkland Festival (October 8-9, 2021), the Boyle County Library conducted Oral Histories about the Forkland Community and its residents.
The oral histories that were recorded have now been edited for easier listening.
